About Calvin Ramsey, MD

Dr. Calvin Ramsey, a new member of the GA Carmichael family,  joins us with great pride and admiration for its mission and goals. Dr. Ramsey is a native Mississippian born in Brookhaven, Mississippi, and was reared on the Mississippi Gulf Coast (Biloxi). He graduated from Jackson State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.  Dr. Ramsey received his degree in medicine from the University of Pittsburgh in 1976 and completed his Internal Medicine residency in 1979 from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Doctor Ramsey has a spiritual passion for healthcare, particularly for those who live in underserved communities. As a father of seven children, Dr. Ramsey is uniquely qualified, having spent the majority of his 48 years of medical practice attempting to eradicate disparities in health care.  He currently resides with his wife of 33 years in Lexington, Mississippi.
