About Shamekka Skinner, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Shamekka Skinner is a native of Lexington, Ms. She is committed to improving patient outcomes and enhancing healthcare services through evidence-based practices and continuous education. She provides high-quality, patient-centered, and comprehensive healthcare to people of all ages.
Mrs. Skinner has 16 years of experience in healthcare. She has served as an employee for a Federal Qualified Health Center (FQHC) since 2009. She began as a licensed practical nurse and later furthered her career as a registered nurse, and now she currently serves as a family nurse practitioner. Her years of expertise in an FQHC have gained her the role of team lead in the clinical department, Vaccination for Children (VFC) coordinator, Early and Periodic Screening Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) coordinator, Clinical Care Liaison, and Director of Nursing. She has served as the chairperson for the Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance (QIQA) program. She will use her knowledge and skills to help make improvements within the organizations which will help to provide better services to the community.
